Birth photography is a way to document the birth of your child. A keepsake you will have forever! As a mom, photographer, and professional in the medical field, I have seen a lot and am still amazed at the beauty and capability of our bodies. This is the most polite way of sayin there is ZERO judgement...EVER...when it comes to the good, the bad, and the ugly of childbirth. We also will have many conversations surrounding your boundaries, wishes, and expectations ahead of time to make you feel the most comfortable.

1) Make sure your hospital / Dr allows birth photography.

2) Book Your Session

3) Pay your deposit ($200)

4) Schedule a phone call with me.

• This is when we go over and discuss your wishes, expectations, boundaries, and best contact information for me when it comes to day of.

5) Keep me in the loop:

• After Dr. appointments just send me a little text update.
• And when you think you might be in labor / headed to the hospital

6) Active Labor

• Once at the hospital, your nurse / Dr. will be able to give you a better timeframe.
• This will be important for me to know as far as when to arrive to the hospital.
• I will then begin communicating with your birth partner as far as room number, unit access, and a good time to come to start shooting.

BOTH! My personal style is a mix of both. Typically, I will edit in full color and then will add duplicate copies in B&W to some of my favorites. However, I will 100% honor whatever your wishes are. A common request I get from moms is that they will mainly want color until more of the graphic images. At that time, I switch to primarily B&W until after baby arrives then go back to mainly color with the mix in of B&W.

• Good communication is 100% the key to capturing the birth!
• Contacting me at the first signs of labor helps to determine when I should come to your birth space.
• Once at the hospital, your nurse / Dr. will be able to give you a better timeframe.
• This will be important for me to know when to arrive to the hospital as well as considering my driving distance to the hospital.
• I will then begin communicating with your birth partner / support person as far as room number, unit access, and a good time to come to start shooting.

It is important to please remember that we can do all of the planning in the world and schedule out all of the time and babies and life have a timeline of their own.

With that being said, it is always my main priority to be at your birth. However, if this occurs and I do miss the birth, I will still come to your place of birth and take photos even if they are already here. If this occurs, we will set up a Fresh 48 to replace what might have been missed and work out a fair compensation or partial refund.
